Every now and then we see a photo that perfectly sums up the amazing community we live in ... like this one as the Fleetwood Beach Wheelchairs service welcomed a very special visitor last weekend.
Rowan from Lytham was the 1,500th person to enjoy access to Fleetwood's beach thanks to the range of purpose-built chairs and equipment. Founder of the award-winning charity Mick, presented young Rowan with a certificate and a gift to mark the occasion. Congratulations to all the trustees and volunteers, and thank you for all the memories you are helping to create.
Have you noticed the fantastic designs popping up on windows across Fleetwood?
Talented local resident Heather, founder of Ember and Blossom CIC, is supporting Fleetwood Town Council's efforts for this year's 'In Bloom' competition with her beautiful paintings.
With the judges in Fleetwood next week, you can see the work in the Town Council offices on Poulton Road and at the Library along North Albert Street.
The school holidays are almost here and there's plenty of activities and events planned in and around Fleetwood for children and young people.
Starting from Monday 21st July, the team at Wyre Family Hub host groups for ages from 0 - 11 years and parents/carers. Fleetwood Library is hosting sessions including the wonderfully named Babbling Babies, Mini Moves and Colourful Footsteps!

Walking, jogging or running 10,000 steps a day is often used as an achievable target to support your physical fitness and several national charities and good causes are organising 10k challenges over the Summer months.
Fleetwood Town Community Trust and Wyre Moving More have partnered on a local initiative for August. Sign up to complete 10,000 steps a day throughout the month to receive a special t-shirt and join the online community where you can share updates and progress alongside other participants. The £10 donation goes towards the Trust's work in the community including their many health and wellbeing activities for residents of all ages.
Congratulations to everyone involved in the Rachel Duncan Memorial Football Tournament at Poolfoot last Sunday.
Over 200 girls and women took part and the day raised over £2,000 which will be split between Richmond Fellowship and Fleetwood Town Community Trust in aid of Mental Health.
This contributions will make a real difference and is a fitting tribute to Rachel's memory.
Our Roving Reporters, Reece and Sunny have been out and about again!
They called into chat with the team at Westview Community Association, finding out more about the recent food donations they've passed on. Westview also offer a service where £4 buys you a bag of food each week such as fruit and veg, worth more than cost.
An update on The Rebel Stitchers, Fleetwood's new sewing group.
After the first get-together earlier this week, weekly sessions will begin from Tuesday 29th July, 10.30am to around noon at the Heart of the Hub community cafe. Learn the basics or bring your own hand stitching projects ... it's about sharing skills and the good company.
Fleetwood's Memorial Park and Mount Park are among those celebrating receiving a Green Flag Award, the international quality mark for parks and green spaces.
The Green Flag Award scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy and this news is testament to the hard work and dedication of the team that care for the green spaces so that visitors and residents alike can enjoy them. Staff and volunteers from all the local parks gathered at Wyre Council recently to accept the well-deserved award.
In a Summer packed with amazing community events, they don't come any bigger than Fleetwood Festival of Transport aka Tram Sunday ... this Sunday, 20th July.
From 10am the length of Lord Street, St Peter's Square and up to the North Euston will be full of fun and excitement with classic vehicles on display, loads of live music and entertainment, rides and stalls, and a great choice of food outlets. The community parade will start from Fisherman's Walk at 11am and it's always a fantastic, colourful spectacle. And to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the first event, the organisers are inviting visitors to go Back to the 80's and come wearing fancy dress from the decade with prizes for the best adult, teen and child.
A huge thank you to the committee for all their time and efforts to stage the Festival.
Volunteers are always welcome and this year there's a shout out for help to tidy up the Town Centre after the event and before the judging for Fleetwood in Bloom. Please contact through the website or call into Event Control on Church Street on the day.
