GOOD NEWS - 10th July
This week sees the launch of a new magazine, website and more with a focus on Family, Mental Health & Well-being, Neurodiversity, and Business & the Workplace.
One aim is to make life easier and more manageable for families who have neurodivergent children or adult members so they don’t just cope or manage, they thrive! Central to the approach is to work with as many partners, voluntary groups and residents as possible.https://connectiverse.co.uk/

Fleetwood had some visitors this week from The Kings Fund, an independent charity working alongside NHS and government to improve healthcare in England.
The tour of Fleetwood included the Strive Community Cafe, Healthier Fleetwood Information Centre and The Hub at the former Fleetwood hospital. Thank you to the members of the local groups who joined a conversation at our Centre, your lived experience and honest feedback is always appreciated and valuable.
Visits like this are very important to Fleetwood, raising awareness of the challenges we face and also the opportunities for investment and to explore new ways of working. Although it's not practical to get around to more of the venues and groups, the guests always leave with a great impression of ALL the work going on in the community.
Thank you to Nicky from Postnatal Holistic Healing for getting in touch and telling us more about her new service.
Nicky says, "As a former NHS Midwife, I have witnessed first-hand the transformative power of compassionate care and holistic health approaches. Our NHS midwives are doing an incredible job with the resources available, but the system is stretched. Our community needs more support to ensure the well-being of new and expectant mothers.
She adds, "Drawing on my experience, I founded Postnatal Holistic Healing with the mission to 'reduce the incidence of postnatal depression' by offering comprehensive support to these women. Our aim is to provide relaxation, healing, and balance in their lives."
There's an introductory session coming up, 10am to 12 noon on Friday 2nd August at CB Fitness on Warren Street. Visit the Facebook page here or call Nicky on 07815 781916 for costs and information.
Clive Grunshaw, Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire has launched his Summer Community Fund.
The Commissioner welcomes applications from Community Safety Partnerships, local community groups, organisations, charities and Parish and Town Councils for projects that have a specific focus on preventing young people from engaging in crime and anti-social behaviour during the summer holiday period. Due to the pre-election period, applications need to be turned around quickly, and applicants are advised to ensure they include full details within the original application.
