GOOD NEWS - 6th November

We start this week with congratulations to everyone involved with Fleetwood In Bloom for picking up an award at North West in Bloom.

Fleetwood Town Council, Cllr Cheryl Raynor (chair), Cllr Jayne Martin, Rossall Ward, Fleetwood and Lenghtsman Dan Munro were recently presented with a Silver Award in the Large Town category. This is great recognition for the 'Bloomers' and all the hard work they do keeping Fleetwood looking colourful and tidy.

And a special shout out to Kath, one of our lovely Healthier Fleetwood volunteers who has also been giving some of her time to Fleetwood in Bloom. Kath joined the team last week to help prepare the planters along Lord Street ahead of the town's Remembrance Day parade on Sunday 10th November.

If you'd like to keep your bicycle running smoothly, there's two FREE maintenance courses on at Fleetwood Library, this Saturday, 9th November.

Join Go Velo for a hands-on session to keep your bike in top shape. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced rider, this event is perfect for anyone looking to learn basic bike maintenance. Come prepared to get your hands dirty and learn from the experienced instructors at this opportunity to improve your bike knowledge and skills. The 2-hour sessions are at 10am & 1pm, FREE places should be pre-booked.

BBC Lancashire News was in Town last week to catch up on the success of Strive Community Cafe at Flakefleet.

Co-founders Dave McPartlin and Mark Spencer shared the story of how the venue started and the role it's now playing to support local residents' wellbeing.
