Only one place to start this week's bulletin ... it's TRAM SUNDAY on 21st July.

Officially known as The Fleetwood Festival of Transport the event brings together classic vehicles of all types, live music and entertainment, a parade, stalls, all the fun of the fair and much more! Thousands of visitors are expected, looking forward to a fun-packed day.

It all starts at 10am with the parade of residents and community groups along Lord Street from 11am. Live music on stage at Fisherman's Walk from 11.30am; new this year, DJs in The Youth Hub (the former hospital) on North Albert Street until 4pm and acts throughout the day at all parts of the festival.

Blackpool Transport Heritage Trams will be running alongside their more modern counterparts - starting and ending from the Fisherman's Walk stop.

A huge THANK YOU to the organising committee for all their hard work and to all the volunteers on the day ... and also to the Fleetwood In Bloom team who have been busy planting, painting and generally making the Town look more colourful and welcoming.

GOOD NEWS FROM OUR SCHOOLS

With sports days, prize presentations and more it's always a hectic time of year for the schools and many have also been busy in the kitchens. We were delighted to be invited to meet the children from the Chaucer School Cookery Club last week. They had prepared a delicious lunch for their parents, grandparents and a few staff. Flakefleet Primary also let us know about a couple of their pupils who have shown great enthusiasm for cookery. And St Mary's Catholic Primary held their very own Olympic-themed Bake Off recently, with some fantastic cakes and very imaginative designs.

It's lovely to see and hear about the children enjoying cooking and baking, learning skills that will be valuable in their adult life. We will be discussing with the local schools about relaunching our 'Fleetwood Young Chef of the Year' challenge after the Summer holidays.

REECE & SUNNY'S ROVING REPORT

Last Friday was the first Ron's Run in Fleetwood, a Wyre Moving More activity ...

Reece & Sunny were there to meet the organisers, find out more about the story behind this event and to join in. On a very pleasant evening, with great views across the bay and loads of donations to The Pantry it proved to be a big success.

WHAT'S ON AT THE HEALTHIER FLEETWOOD CENTRE

Drop in on Friday 19th July if you need some help and advice for your digital device. The friendly, knowledgeable volunteers from West Fleetwood Computer Clinic will be with us from 11am to around 1.30pm to answer your questions on getting connected, data storage, staying safe online and more. It's FREE, no need to pre-book but can get busy so there's a cuppa and a biscuit if you have to wait.

And a reminder of the upcoming workshops for the Big HeArt Project.

We have a few places left for the session at the Healthier Fleetwood Centre, from 1pm on Wednesday 24th July. FREE to attend, materials provided and there's a brew - it is adults only.

Strive Community Cafe at Flakefleet Primary has a family workshop on Monday 29th July from 11am and another session for children and young people will be held in The Youth Hub, dates to be confirmed.

Email listening@healthierfleetwood.co.uk and we'll pass details onto local creative Heather who is hosting all the Big HeArt Project workshops.

And finally, we had a fantastic day at the Friends of Memorial Park Funday last Sunday and there's more good news about the Town's open spaces this week.

Memorial Park and The Mount Gardens are among the locations to receive the Green Flag award for their appearance, maintenance and cleanliness. Congratulations to all the park-keepers and staff involved who work so hard in all weathers, and to the volunteer groups too.

Please keep sending in all your GOOD NEWS to share with the community,

Until the next time, take care.
