GOOD NEWS - March 31st

It’s been great to see the mobile breast screening unit located at the Health & Wellbeing Centre on Dock Street for the last week.

The return of the service to Fleetwood follows a passionate and successful community campaign earlier this year. With a local unit now available again, women are encouraged to take up their appointments - it really can save lives.

Our best wishes to Ben and the team at Fleetwood Museum as the venue prepares to open for the 2022 season on Tuesday 5th April.

We had a chat recently with Angelica, the Museum’s arts coordinator and there are some exciting plans for exhibits and activities over the next couple of years - great opportunities to connect residents with the Town’s fascinating history and heritage including the next phase of the Mapping Memories project.

Plenty of ways to enjoy the Great Outdoors over the holidays including walks. beach cleans, 'Sow & Grow' events and more arts and crafts sessions ...

As it’s Spring (or at least it should be) it’s the perfect time to get on your bike!

Wyre Council has announced a schedule of events designed to get people in the saddle, and out and about. Fleetwood’s ‘social cycling’ rides start from the Marine Hall at 10am on selected Fridays until the end of October. There are also some ‘family cycling’ rides during the year.

If you want to get involved but don’t have your own bike and helmet, these can be provided (for adults only). > Dates, more information and how to book is availlable here.

Fleetwood Men's Shed is putting together a community event to mark Mental Health Week in May this year.

The event will be free to attend for the public on the day and for those taking a table. If you are interested in being involved, please contact Dave Smith on mensshedfleetwood@gmail.com.
