GOOD NEWS - January 20th

Although we have to remain vigilant, there are some encouraging signs about the pandemic and the easing of restrictions, and more optimism and enthusiasm in the community to get out and about, try something new ...


The Bay: A Blueprint for Recovery, connects residents with the environment and nature to support better physical and mental health.This project is already active in many communities around Morecambe Bay expanding on the great initiatives started by The Wildlife Trusts and their partners.


We’re looking forward to supporting the Wyre-based team in the future, especially with the exciting news they will soon be based at Rossall Observation Tower!



The Citizens Advice Digital Help Centre at Fleetwood Market is looking for volunteers to support their work in the community.


Full training will be given and you will be alongside an experienced member of staff.

If you’d like to know more about some of the opportunities, Mark Trent from Lancashire Volunteer Partnership is with us at our Wellbeing & Community Information Centre, Affinity Lancashire, tomorrow (Friday 21st January) - call in for a chat between 11am and 1pm.



If it’s help with using and maintaining your digital device or making the most of t’internet the friendly guys from the West Fleetwood Computer Club will also be with us from 11 am to 2pm on Friday. There’s no need to book, just drop in and get connected!


There’s a 12-week course starting next month with the Fylde Coast Health & Social Care Career Academy and it could lead to a career in the NHS.


Places are open for anyone aged 19+ and unemployed. The training is face-to-face at the Academy, Bickerstaffe House, Blackpool with support available for travel and childcare. Learners gain a plethora of level 1 accredited qualifications and a level 2 qualification in dementia awareness with a guaranteed interview with the hospital for health care assistant positions.



Lancashire Adult Learning has a new range of courses starting in February, there are some interesting and different topics ...


Some of the courses are venue-based, some are online and they CV and Interview skills, Equality & Diversity awareness, Sustainability and specialist cleaning and carpet care.

Parents and carers are invited to join a social event to make friends and formation.

Organised by the Wyre Parent Carers, the meeting is for breakfast/brunch at 10.30am on Monday 24th January at The Tramway in Cleveleys. This resident-led group provide great peer support and the get together is a chance to find out what’s happening and the help available.
