We start this week with congratulations to the Fleetwood Town Community Trust pan-ability team for winning at the 15th Annual Lytham Football Tournament.
Taking on teams from Scotland, Yorkshire and the North East in their group, they made it through to the Final to defeat South Tyneside 2-1. Over 30 teams took part and their coach Phil said, "The team worked hard and had each others backs all the way through!"

For VOLUNTEERS WEEK and we're delighted to celebrate individuals and groups making a difference in the community.
Gillian Sheath, has set off this week on a charity cycle ride from Fleetwood Beach Wheelchairs to Redcar and back! The ride is in memory of Gillian's friend Lisa who was a visitor to Fleetwood's accessible beach. She was waved off by Steve Nicholls, the Mayor of Wyre; John Edwards, Rotary District Governor; Mick Gray, Chair and other trustees of Fleetwood Beach Wheelchairs.
Volunteers will have played their part in the Good News that two of Fleetwood's beaches are among those to receive a Seaside Award flag from Keep Britain Tidy.
Marine Beach and Ferry Beach, plus Rossall Beach and Jubilee Beach in Cleveleys have all been recognised for quality, cleanliness and management. Local residents join the regular beach clean events including those hosted by The Bay: A Blueprint for Recovery. Last Saturday 17 people joined Rachel from The Bay to help keep the beach tidy and free of litter and somewhere safe for visitors, animal life and plants.
The Bay have a full Summer of events planned for the Fleetwood & Wyre coastline and further afield.
We'd like to take the opportunity to add our best wishes to Suzanne Davenport for all her hard work and dedication to the community.
She's taking a step back from some of the fundraising groups and activities she has supported over many years. Thank you Suzanne.
Luke Helmn completed 5 marathons in 5 days last week, raising awareness and funds for The Big Food Project but he's not relaxing just yet!
This Sunday is Ron's Run Fleetwood, in memory of Luke's father. It's a fun run with a difference as the entry fee is a donation of food items for The Pantry Foodbank. The event is a 1-mile run/jog/walk/push along The Promenade, starting at 11am on June 7th. All ages & abilities welcome. There's no need to pre-book, just turn up, donate what you can and join in!

William Hargreaves leads a walk around Fleetwood’s Blue Plaque Trail covering distinctive and historic buildings in Victorian Fleetwood. Book places at the Museum in person or call 01253 876621.

Fleetwood Carnival
Promenade and Town Centre
The 115th Fleetwood Carnival includes the traditional parade from Marine Hall and through the Town Centre led by the Queen and her Princesses. Community groups can still be involved, volunteers are welcome too.

Fleetwood Scarecrow Festival returns in July and the organisers are looking for a family, perhaps two, to join the Carnival parade in fancy dress and promote the Festival.

The second event of the year is a chance to declutter, make a few pounds and chat with visitors. Set up a stall in your garden, driveway or front door, and take a stroll round town to see what else is on sale.
