Fleetwood Mako's Aquatic Club, formerly Fleetwood Swimming Club, have announced a new partnership giving every member and their families access to outstanding support to aid development both in and out of the pool.
The Club says, "AP Race Plus brings together expert guidance, athlete education and practical resources covering the areas that contribute to long-term success, including training, mindset, nutrition, recovery, land-based development and support for parents. For our community, this means more opportunities for our swimmers to learn and develop; support that goes beyond their time in the pool; valuable guidance for parents and families; additional resources for our coaching team - access is included as part of every athlete’s Mako’s membership. Swimming has never been just about completing more lengths. It is about developing confident, resilient and well-rounded young people, and giving them the knowledge and support to fulfil their potential. This partnership represents another significant investment in our athletes and our community. We’re excited to bring the expertise and resources of AP Race Plus into the Mako’s environment."
The Club also recently received £500 from the ASDA Foundation, presented to them by the Fleetwood store's Community Champion, Layla.

MAN ENOUGH is a new, peer-led space for men to talk, listen and support each other with no judgement and no pressure.
The FREE sessions are hosted by volunteers from Level Up Fleetwood Families in Recovery at The HUB Fleetwood (the former Fleetwood Hospital building), North Albert Street on Monday evenings from 7pm.

The amazing Mens Shed Fleetwood have given so much of their time to help others, much of it unseen, without fuss or fanfare ... more volunteers are needed!
You'll be helping to host groups and activities which support many local residents with a chance for friendship over a brew or a hot meal and access to services in the community.

Local residents and traders around Larkholme Parade are working together to look after their neighbourhood.
This week new benches have been installed and as this photo shows they're already proving popular. Alongside the colourful planters and the regular litter-picks, the precinct is looking great ... why not pop by and see for yourself!
A very Happy 1st Birthday to everyone at the Heart of the Hub cafe.
This amazing community space was opened on 22nd July last year by the wonderful team from One Fylde and is now a firm favourite for many to enjoy a brew, for something to eat and as somewhere to meet. And with the addition of the outdoor area it's proving to be a great place to take advantage of the recent glorious weather.
And you can join the celebrations this week ... there's a warm welcome for everyone and a FREE slice of cake with every hot drink ordered!
The Heart of the Hub Cafe is open Monday to Friday from 9.30am - 2.30pm - please use the Bold Street or car-park entrances of the former Fleetwood Hospital building.

With the sun shining, tens of thousands of visitors enjoyed a fantastic day including the community parade and the first appearance of Harriet: The Spirit of Fleetwood. This 9-feet-high, hand-operated puppet celebrates the Town's heritage and was made by Janine Walker, Emma Clarke and local residents.

Final tip - Preventing identity theft
When you are disposing of any device used on the internet it is essential that all your personal data is wiped from the device before disposal. This applies to Phones; Tablets; Laptops and Desktops, even connected watches. Simply erasing storage devices doesn’t mean that the information is irrecoverable, a further process is needed - writing over the data.
If you are disposing of devices which contain personal data you can drop them off at Healthier Fleetwood in The HUB, with your email address attached, and they will be erased before disposal. This is completely FREE but please note, no repairs or returns.

Got a suggestion for something new and need help to get it started? These meetings are a great place to share your ideas and to get support. Local resident Pauline is your host for a relaxed and always inspiring evening. Doors open about 6pm, there's a brew and biscuits, we usually finish by 8.30pm - all welcome!
There will also be conversation on the themes identified by the Pride in Fleetwood Board. Fleetwood has been awarded £20m over the next decade as part of the UK Government’s 'Pride in Place' programme and the community will decide how the money is spent to benefit our wonderful town. The Healthier Fleetwood Open Meeting in November last year was one of the many consultation events inviting suggestions from the community.
