Charles Saer Primary school is celebrating the re-opening of their Sunshine Room!
With the fantastic support of Elite Competitions and local trades they have refurbished this facility for pupils, parents and staff to enjoy. The school says, "The Sunshine Room has always been a vital place for time out, play, and helping children regulate ... now it finally matches the importance of what it’s used for every single day. Dreams really do come true but without Elite Competitions we’d be doing cake sales for the next 100 years to make this a reality! "
Laurie, who leads the Sunshine Room, will now also be using the space to host a parent group - giving families a safe and comfortable place to connect and support one another. Elite Competitions add, "What started as a £5,000 refresh quickly turned into something much bigger… we went all in and spent £20,000 transforming the space into something brighter, calmer, and fit for the incredible work it’s used for."

Fleetwood's recently-formed branch of the Royal British Legion welcomes new members to join and benefit from the support and events they offer.
They say, "A lot of people think joining the RBL is all about formal meetings and suits. In reality, it’s about being back in the room with people who just 'get it.' When you leave the services, that shared shorthand and unique sense of humour are often the things you miss the most. Whether you were a sailor, a soldier, an airman, or a member of the wider service community, that bond doesn't have an expiry date
The Fleetwood Branch isn't just a committee; it’s a place to reconnect with the military family. If you’ve been missing that camaraderie, or just want to sit in a room where you don’t have to explain yourself or your past, come and see us. No airs or graces, no pressure - just the brotherly and sisterly support of those who have walked the same path. If you’ve been watching from the sidelines, it’s time to come back into the fold. We’d love to have you with us!"
