It's Mental Health Awareness Week and across Fleetwood, organisations and community groups have been hosting activities and events for local residents.
Reading is a great way to support your health and wellbeing ... losing yourself in a novel or biography, learning something new from a reference book and there are plenty of options to pick up a book in and around Fleetwood.
The weekly Open Book Club is hosted by Jess from Community First in the Heart of the Hub cafe on Wednesday mornings from 9.30am. No need to 'book', just bring your current favourite or choose from one of the suggestions.
The Meadow Cafe at Broadwater also hosts a monthly book club, it's on next 1pm - 3pm, Tuesday 19th May.
Coastal Chapter book and coffee shop opened last week and is a lovely place to meet, eat, drink and of course there's also Fleetwood Library, both are on North Albert Street.
The new fitness and wellbeing group for Armed Forces Veterans at Fleetwood Gym Boxing Club has proved to be a great success.
The Club said this week, "A huge thank you to everyone who attended our Veterans Class. We had an amazing turnout, everyone giving 100% from start to finish. Great to see everyone supporting each other, getting stuck in, enjoying a coffee & chat afterwards."
Fleetwood's own, Jane Couch MBE also dropped in to show her support! FREE sessions are on Tuesday mornings, 11am - 12noon in the gym, followed by a brew.
At the Fleetwood Bike Hub they receive unwanted or unused bikes and thanks to their volunteers, the equipment is repaired and restored to a safe, usable condition.
These bikes are then donated to people who really need them - helping someone get to appointments, work or even out shopping. Something so simple, can make a huge difference. Wyre Council has a purpose built workshop and volunteer space at Marine Hall in Fleetwood and becoming a volunteer offers new knowledge and skills. You will meet like minded people and help your community.
If you or anyone you know would like to get involved ...
At the time of writing, more volunteers are needed for Fleetwood Promenade parkrun this Saturday.
If you can spare a couple of hours from around 8.30am this week, or in the future please contact the team.
A reminder of the Fleetwood Volunteers Fayre ... on Saturday 30th May.
Call in to Emmanuel Mount Church on Mount Road, Fleetwood from 11am - 2pm to chat with groups and organisations offering a variety of volunteering roles in the local community. Free to attend, there's no need to pre-book and there's free refreshments too.

Congratulations to George and members of The Cod Army who completed their trek up Snowdon.
They were raising awareness and funds for the project to create a community asset on the site of the old Fleetwood pier. You can find out more about their ideas and offer support through the website:
Fleetwood's new Civic Art Trail will be launched later this month.
The first chance to follow the trail will be at a special event on Saturday 23rd May starting at Fleetwood Men's Shed on Manor Road. From there you can follow the painted seagulls, crabs, buckets and spades as they take you along the Promenade, down some of Fleetwood’s oldest streets and past some of our oldest buildings to finish outside The Steamer pub where the latest, large scale mural is on display.
This project is being delivered by a partnership of community organisations including Fleetwood Arts CIC and has been funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The organisers say, "This is an event for all ages. Wear your comfy shoes, get your steps in, enjoy the fresh air while you connect with Fleetwood’s past and your fellow art trailers! The full trail map and details about how to make the most of your walk are coming soon!"
... and an update on the 'Spirit of Fleetwood' project with Fleetwood Arts we featured last week.
If you couldn't make it along to the first workshop yesterday, there's a chance to contribute to the how the 9ft tall illuminated figure will look, by filling in the online form here.
We have a fantastic summer of events to look forward to in Fleetwood and planning has already started for later in the year.

... AND FINALLY
Healthier Fleetwood's 'Man Friday' Dave Carlos was a co-founder of the West Fleetwood Computer Clinic and has extensive knowledge in the field of cyber security.
Following some inquires and conversations he'll be passing on tips in these bulletins starting with 'strong passwords. The National Cyber Security Centre says we should ...
“Use three random words to create a password that's difficult to crack.” Three random words, words not associated with you personally, like CupBrushFlower, are difficult to guess and to crack using a computer. They are also easier to remember than strings of nonsense letters. You can add extra characters and numbers to make them even stronger, like Cup4Brush5Flower!"
Next time ...
How many passwords do you need?
