We kick off this week's bulletin with a hat-trick of Good News from the team at Fleetwood Town Community Trust.
Staff and volunteers from Westview Community Association and Healthier Fleetwood joined the Trust and Fleetwood Town players at last Saturday's home game for a collection supporting The Pantry Foodbank and Westview's food club. Thank you to everyone who made a donation of food items and cash, it is very much appreciated.
Tony, Armed Forces Officer for the Trust is working with Tia's Crown to host a morning of dancing, chat and community. Serving and former service personnel are invited to attend a taster session to learn some fancy footwork and have fun! Get involved on Tuesday 3rd March at 11am, Crown Ballroom at Farmer Parrs.

Working with Fylde Coast Macmillan Support, Fleetwood Town Community Trust host a weekly gentle exercise class welcoming people coping with a cancer diagnosis, helping them to improve physical fitness and resilience.
Sessions are up just the road at Thornton YMCA on Wednesday afternoons and also include the chance for a chat and a brew with the other members of the group and the Macmillan team.
It's an initiative that has attracted the attention of the national media. If you have access to the ITVX streaming service, you can see a feature on the Cancer Prehab on the EFL Highlights show here ... starting at about 1 hour 4 minutes.
> For further information on these sessions contact community@fleetwoodtownfc.com
We'd also like to wish John Hartley every success in the future and thank him for his support, following the announcement he will be leaving as CEO of Fleetwood Town Community Trust in the Spring.
Fleetwood was on TV again in the week when BBC North West News came to hear more about the 'pen pals' project.
Pupils from Flakefleet Primary School have been writing to members of the local aqua aerobics group and they all met up for the first time in person this week at the Heart of the Hub community cafe.
Ronan and his classmates have been swapping messages with the swimmers about hobbies and interests and will be staying friends in the future. Well done to all involved in this lovely initiative.
It's Children's Mental Health Week and this year's theme is 'This in my place'.
Connecting with others is a great way to support wellbeing for all ages, particularly young people and creating the right environment for connections makes a huge difference. That's not just the physical space, it's also about the sense you belong and you are valued in your family, friendships, in school, and in your community. There's much more information and a wide range of useful resources available for families, workplaces and community groups at > childrensmentalhealthweek.org.uk

United Youth Alliance is a unique organisation based in the Fylde Coast, supporting communities across the UK and beyond.
Their mission is to influence the power of youth work across a range of settings to benefit the lives of young people and the communities they live in. They have just set up a Wyre Youth Advisory Board and are looking for young people to join, to explore all the services and resources available to them across the borough. Holly from the Alliance says, "We want as many youth voices as possible to explore sport offerings, activities and other areas of interest for young people."
The group will be meeting at venues including Boathouse Youth in Fleetwood.

There's a new drop-in service starting this week from DWP Job Centre Plus.
The mobile van will be in the car-park on the Bold Street side of The HUB Fleetwood, the former hospital building from 10am to 3pm tomorrow 12th February and for the next three Thursdays, same time, same place. It's an opportunity for residents who aren’t currently accessing the advice and support they’re entitled, moving them closer to employment and consider how being in work benefits their households.
Pop down and meet the team.
Congratulations to the Behind Closed Doors team as they celebrate a wonderful milestone this week, their 4th anniversary of supporting women and children to live their lives safe and free from abuse.
They say, "We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who's supported our cause over the past 4 years. From the dedication of our past and present volunteers, donations, fundraising to connecting with organisations and services. We appreciate each and everyone of you."
A reminder of The Thursday Morning Club, the new name for the Dementia Cafe hosted by members of Fleetwood Rotary Club.
It's an informal drop-in for anyone going through the challenge of an illness, the loss of a loved-one or who just needs a friendly chat and a brew. Get-togethers are monthly and the next one is on the 19th February from 10am to noon at Emmanuel Mount Church.
Local Government Reorganisation will affect us all and the community is invited to contribute to the decision making process.
The government‑led consultation is open now and aims to determine which proposal for LGR best meets the terms set out in the statutory invitation issued to all Lancashire councils last year. The proposals will be assessed against criteria including size, efficient delivery of services, financial impact and partnerships between existing councils. The new unitary structures should also enable stronger community engagement and deliver genuine opportunity for neighbourhood empowerment.
Closes 26th March 2026
