Advent Calendar ... Day 17

With the schools breaking up and Christmas just a week away excitement will be building but, even without the added challenges we face, this can be a tough time of year for many families.

Fleetwood Together was formed at the start of the pandemic to support those in need with food, essential items and access to services.

For many months they operated from the hub at Marine Hall, with dozens of volunteers giving up their time to collate donations, pack parcels and deliver them across Fleetwood and beyond.

While that first immediate crisis did pass the need for Fleetwood Together remains and they continue help when asked.

Their efforts were deservedly recognised earlier in the year with a BBC Lancashire 'Make A Difference' award.
