HEALTHIER FLEETWOOD ON THE BBC

BBC News have been following the Healthier Fleetwood story from the start.

Reporter Dominic Hughes has been a regular visitor meeting residents and community project leaders to find out more about our successes and our challenges.

We understand that there will be reports on our progress over the weekend and into next week. Many of the local groups and residents who have been filmed and interviewed will be included.

The coverage is due to start on Sunday evening in the 10pm news bulletin, continue on BBC Breakfast Monday morning and through the day until the early evening news.

There will also be something on the BBC Radio 4 PM Programme and across the BBC news website.

Look out for the coverage but bear in mind it does all depend on which other news stories arise over the weekend!

UPDATE: 14th March - Unfortunately the reports were postponed due to coverage of other events. We understand the reports will be broadcast before the end of the month.

You can see the edition of BBC's Health: Truth or Scare featuring Fleetwood resident Mick Parkin and local GP, Mark Spencer looking at heartburn medication on the iPlayer.

Healthier Fleetwood is a not-for-profit organisation supporting the physical and mental health of the Town's residents by connecting them to each other, services and voluntary groups in the community. As an individual's confidence grows they take more control of their own wellbeing and an active role in the decisions that affect them. We are independent of but work in close partnership with the many organisations supporting the community.
