TEA & TALK ... AND A SPOONFUL OF SUGAR IS JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED!

Around 200 people attended our Tea & Talk event at Marine Hall on Valentine's Day.

Residents were able to meet and chat with over 25 local groups and organisations helping to promote better health and wellbeing, sharing some of the fantastic work going on in the Fleetwood community

Tea & cake was served at the tables to create a lovely atmosphere before a couple of speeches which included local GP Mark Spencer bursting into a short rendition of the Mary Poppins classic!

The whole room then joined in with the wonderful Harmony & Health singing group for a sing-a-long before lots more conversation at the tables.

The afternoon was a success with resident and the groups and details of future Healthier Fleetwood events at other venues and in other formats will be announced.

The next event is an Open Meeting for all parties in Fleetwood interested in improving the health of residents - Wednesday 7th March, 6pm at the Broadway Rooms, next to St Nicholas Church, Fleetwood.

Healthier Fleetwood is a not-for-profit organisation supporting the physical and mental health of the Town's residents by connecting them to each other, services and voluntary groups in the community. As an individual's confidence grows they take more control of their own wellbeing and an active role in the decisions that affect them. We are independent of but work in close partnership with the many organisations supporting the community.
