OPEN MEETINGS - JOIN US AND HAVE YOUR SAY

Dates and venues have been announced for the next three public meetings of the Healthier Fleetwood partnership.

The first will be next Tuesday, 5th September at the Broadway Rooms, St Nicholas Church, Broadway, starting at 6pm.

October’s meeting will be on Tuesday 3rd at The Mount Church, Mount Road also from 6pm while the meeting on November 7th at the Sea Cadet Base, Princes Way starts at 2pm.

Fleetwood resident Maxine Garrett will be among those leading the meetings as the emphasis is about engaging more local people in the decisions that affect them. She said, “I’ve been involved in Healthier Fleetwood from the start because I’m passionate about making the Town a better place to live and work. There’s so many amazing projects and support groups in the Town that we need to share what’s going on and also work together on some of the issues that need attention. It’s been great to see the way everyone has come together so far and there’s a real feeling we are starting to make a difference.”

At the meetings members of Healthier Fleetwood will update the audience on progress so far and plans for the future which include funding for local initiatives that boost residents’ physical or mental health, Time Credit vouchers for volunteers and 6 green space projects in the Town. There will be an opportunity for people to share their own stories, how a change in lifestyle has made a difference to them and their families.

Maxine added, “Healthier Fleetwood is for the benefit of the whole community. We want as many residents to come along as possible and get involved.”
