GOOD NEWS - January 6th

Hello all, Happy New Year and welcome to our first bulletin of 2022.

We hope you were able to enjoy the holidays and are keeping well in what remains a very difficult time for everyone. As always, there is still plenty of Good News to share ...

... starting with the launch of a brand new charity Tia’s (Therapy In Action) Crown at a very special event later this month.

Tia’s Crown has been founded by dancers to give something back to local communities and organisations especially where the need is most.

The aim of the charity is to support people with poor mental and physical health through dance sessions in a safe environment where they may not previously had access. The dance sessions are open to everyone above 12yrs and are also a fun team building activity for organisations. The group produced the award-winning 'Strictly NHS', where 12 NHS staff were picked from 2000 applicants and given the “Strictly” experience, performing in front of a live audience and on-line from the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. The event was awarded a Pride of Lancashire Award 2021 raising an amazing £23,000 plus for the NHS.

Local residents are invited to attend the regular FREE dance sessions held at the Crown Ballroom, Farmer Parrs and tickets for the launch event are on-sale now.

Telephone: 07562 313609

On a similar theme ... a reminder that 'Fleetwood Moves' with LPM Dance has resumed for the New Year, Thursdays at the Barbara Jackson Theatre Arts Centre.

Sessions include an open ballet class suitable for all, an inclusive class suitable for adults with and without disabilities, and a class for those living with Parkinson's or other neurological conditions.
