GOOD NEWS - 19th April

What a fantastic day in our Information Centre on Lord Street with visitors coming in for the events and to connect with the local community.

Thank you to Dave, Mike and Richard the 'apprentice' from the West Fleetwood Computer Clinic for their free drop-in session - passing on loads of good advice and technical support to local residents. The guys are back with us on Friday 17th May, 11am to around 1.30pm.

Maurice from Fleetwood Rotary popped into for a chat about the Drop-In Memory Centre at Emmanuel Church Fleetwood every third Thursday of the month between 10am and 12 noon. Now in its twelfth year they have interesting speakers, refreshments and a lot of fun!

Anne & John called through too, preparing for next week's Dementia Awareness drop-in with The Walnut Tree on Friday 26th April, 11am to 1pm. Another opportunity to share support and suggestions among those diagnosed with a debilitating condition, and their carers. Any voluntary and professional agencies working with dementia and/or Alzheimer's are very welcome to attend.

We had plenty of familiar faces and some first-time callers, all enjoying the friendly atmosphere and the chance to browse the information of what's happening in the community. Wendy, one of the Fleetwood social prescribers was with us too, adding her knowledge and kindness to the conversations.

Thanks to our two lovely volunteers Kath and Sam for making sure everyone had a warm welcome and a brew.

Some exciting ideas were exchanged over a very busy few hours and we'll be sharing details of more drop-ins and events very soon.

If you can't get along to see us when we are open (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 10am to 3pm) do keep an eye on the windows as you pass by on Lord Street ... they are always full of posters for upcoming events and local groups.
