DEMONSTRATION GARDEN
The Demonstration Garden on Memorial Park is based upon a community garden. The grounds of Demonstration Garden have 6 raised beds, a large poly-tunnel, a community room, ‘Yardens’, compost bins, willow garden, wild flower areas and several planting beds.
We meet twice a week on Wednesday mornings from 9:30am – 12noon and on Fridays from 12:30pm – 4pm, where we aim to provide a public open space for people to meet, share interests and ideas and get involved in the local community.
The garden is managed by volunteers within the community and provides a space for working with and learning from nature, growing fresh organic food, learning hands-on gardening skills and sustainability but also creating and displaying community art.
We encourage anyone from the community to come along to one of our sessions to meet new people, have refreshment, share skills or even just as a change from the norm.
