Fleetwood Flyers Walking Football Club

The Club was formed in March 2016, almost to the day Healthier Fleetwood began, and we've worked closely together ever since with members sharing their inspirational stories to other local residents.

Prior to the lockdown regulations the Flyers were hosting 4 busy sessions of football each week, suitable for those just wanting to keep fit to a more competitive standard but it's been almost 3 months since they last played. It's been tough but Club officials have been engaging with the membership through social media and regular email bulletins, keeping spirits up and passing on useful information.

They recently held their AGM by video link and the friendships formed by being part of the Club have been valuable in supporting individual's wellbeing during these difficult times. Many members are active in the community working on projects and fundraising for good causes and the Club itself made a donation to the Fleetwood Together group which has been supporting residents during the crisis.

While the Flyers await news of when they can return to action at Fleetwood Town's Poolfoot sports complex, their attitude is perfectly summed up by the tag they posted on their Facebook page recently ... #wewillplayagain
