Walking Football @ Poolfoot Farm Sports & Leisure Village
Jan 19 @ 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
Walking Football @ Poolfoot Farm Sports & Leisure Village

Walking Football has always been one of the activities Healthier Fleetwood has been delighted to share as a great example of supporting health & wellbeing and developing new friendships.

The Fleetwood Town Flyers are an established organisation hosting several supervised sessions a week for men aged 50 and over. Sessions are held at the Poolfoot Sports Complex in Thornton.

Mondays  7pm to 8pm
This walking football session is held in the confines of a 4G 5 A-side cage. Due to the fact the ball is always in play it will be a little more physically demanding and so is better suited to slightly fitter players

Wednesdays 12 Noon to 1.30pm
This walking football session is held on open 4G pitches with sidelines and is our main ‘football for all’ session. It is suitable for players of all abilities and fitness levels making it ideal for all first time players through to experienced players. This is the best session to attend if you are a new starter.

Fridays 5pm to 6pm
This senior football session is held on an open, 4G pitch with games being played at a much quicker pace running, not walking. It is therefore mainly suited to the fitter, more mobile, higher ability players who wish to play a running game.

Sundays 11am -12 Noon
This walking football session is held in the confines of a 4G 5 A-side cage. Due to the fact the ball is always in play it will be a little more physically demanding and so is better suited to slightly fitter players

If you are a new starter the first week is free of charge then it’s £3pp per session.

See the Fleetwood Town Flyers website for details of all the sessions to find the one right for your standard.

Did you know … The Flyers were the FA People’s Cup winners for walking football in 2018, securing the trophy in a tournament at the St George’s Park national training complex.

Jan 25 @ 9:00 am – 10:15 am
Fleetwood Promenade parkrun @ Fleetwood Promenade

The Fleetwood Promenade parkrun isn’t in a park and you don’t have to run!

Take it at your pace … run, walk, pull or push (a buggy), bring the dog with you (on a lead please), bring the family … you set your target time to cover the 5Km and off you go.

The event takes place every Saturday morning promptly at 9.00am along the Outer Promenade, The Esplanade, Fleetwood starting from the back of Marine Hall.

It’s free to take part but please register with the parkrun website before your first run – you only need to do it once. Don’t forget to bring a printed copy of your barcode each week because if you forget it your time can’t be recorded and you don’t want to miss that personal best!

Once registered you can enter any of the hundreds of parkrun events across the Country.

So what are you waiting for, sign up today and have a go.

Fleetwood Promenade parkrun needs you!
It is entirely organised by volunteers – email fleetwoodpromenadehelpers@parkrun.com to join the group of marshalls and timekeepers – just once a month would be a great help.

Harmony & Health is NOT a choir, it’s a singing group that’s all about having fun, making friends and feeling healthier and happier. Don’t worry if you can’t sing very well … most of those that attend say they can’t either!

You’ll be made to feel welcome as you join in with well known, feel-good songs from across the decades.

There’s no need to book, it’s free to attend, you just pay for a tea or coffee if you want one.

If you are nervous about attending for the first time please contact Healthier Fleetwood and we can arrange for somebody to meet you at the doors and settle you in, so give it a go!

It’s every Tuesday afternoon at Marine Hall from 1.30pm to about 3pm.

Walking Football @ Poolfoot Farm Sports & Leisure Village
Jan 29 @ 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm
