This event is on Tuesday 14th February at Marine Hall Fleetwood and will showcase many of the activities, groups and events in the community for local residents.

We now have over 20 partners attending on the day to host tables and share information on what they have to offer.

It will all be very informal, with no speeches or presentations, just friendly conversations about the ways you can improve your physical and mental health and most of all connect with people around you.

There will be something for all ages with groups including Fleetwood Gym FC, The Princes Trust and URPotential supporting children and young people as well details of friendship groups, arts & crafts and much more for adults. On the day you make a bird feeder and discover a mobile rockpool with The Bay: A Blueprint for Recovery: enjoy a Jars of Joy workshop: have a go at some fitness exercises with Fleetwood Town Community Trust and enjoy other activities with the highlight from 1.30pm a FREE singalong session with the wonderful Harmony & Health! The event is also part of the ‘listening’ campaign from Lancashire County Council and staff will be gathering feedback on the challenges individuals and communities face regarding isolation and loneliness - your suggestions can help shape future services.

And a huge thank you to the pupils at Shakespeare Primary School for their hard work and creativity supporting the event. Here's just a few of the amazing, colourful, fun and unique designs they've come up with to decorate bags we'll be giving away to the first 200 people who come along to the event.

Inside the bags will be free gifts and some Love Fleetwood goodies plus plenty of room to drop in leaflets and information you can pick up on the day. > Updates on the Say No Loneliness event are available on Facebook here We look forward to seeing you ... Marine Hall, 11am to 3pm at Marine Hall.

Earlier this week over 60 local healthcare, social care, education and community representatives met to discuss children's and young people's health and wellbeing.

The event was organised by Liz from Inspired Minds and Elizabeth, children and young person's social prescriber for the Fleetwood Primary Care Network as part of a programme of support. A full report from extensive consultation with young people and their families will be published soon as once again Fleetwood is leading the way in listening to the community.

The Prince's Trust is currently recruiting for their new 'Get Into Construction' course which will be based in Fleetwood.

This is part-time over 4 weeks from Monday 27th February to Friday 24th March. Young people aged 18 to 30 years will learn construction skills, have a work placement and take their CSCS test at the end of the course. There's a taster day on Tuesday 21st February.

Please contact Jan Bradley at Princes Trust Lancashire to find out more or refer a young person. Telephone 07506 692154 or email janice.bradley@princes-trust.org.uk

Congratulations to Fleetwood Ladies Rugby Club who won 53-12 on Sunday against the visitors from Wirral Ladies RUFC.

It was a fantastic and enjoyable game sponsored by the Fleetwood ladies team of the 1990s and followed by a great post-match in the clubhouse too! Players of the match were Yazz Brown, Elaine Greenhalgh and Lauren Haworth, Lauren also nominated as player of the match by the original ladies team.

Our Information Centre was busy last Friday with visitors chatting to the lovely folks from The Peter Lyttle Foundation about dementia.

Peter, Gail, Anne and John are not healthcare professionals but they do have lived experience of being diagnosed with dementia and of caring for a loved one. They believe the key to someone with dementia living their best life is to make sure the people around them properly understand their condition, their needs, and how to maintain their dignity so they can still participate in what they wish to.

The Peter Lyttle Foundation are with us for a free, drop-in event on the first Friday of the month, 11am to 1pm so the next is Friday 1st March. They also have their own premises at 13 Preston Street, Fleetwood and are open on Thursdays - tel: 07856 933003. Please do drop into the Healthier Fleetwood Information Centre any Friday, 11am to 1pm for our free Chatter Cafe. As well as regular drop-in events with partners it's a great opportunity to meet people and browse all the posters and leaflets and Adam, one of the Fleetwood Social Prescribers is also with us to chat about health and wellbeing support. Upcoming drop-in event ... Friday 17th March, 11am - 2pm: West Fleetwood Computer Clinic. Call in for FREE advice on getting the most from your digital device and the internet. Until the next time ... take care.
