What an amazing line-up! There might be more we haven't heard about and of course, there's the street parties too. Please spread the word about what's on so that as many people as possible can support these wonderful community events.

We've had several visitors to our Wellbeing & Community Information Centre at Affinity Lancashire this week, sharing their passion for an activity or group ...

Thank you to Valerie, an enthusiastic supporter of the Afternoon Tea Dances at the North Euston Hotel. They meet on Mondays and Thursdays, 2pm to 4pm to enjoy the music and dancing in the Ballroom. Sessions are currently £5pp including complimentary refreshments. For more information on the Tea Dances please call Ian on 07941 289240 or the North Euston Hotel on 01253 876525.Valerie also told us that several members of the group will be at Celebrate Fleetwood Day on Sunday, dancing a special Coronation Waltz to the keyboard music of Alan Cookson.

Also part of the line-up on Sunday 7th May is the Fleetwood Old Boys Band. Geoff called in recently to leave a poster and tell us more. The Old Boys Band was originally formed in 1986, marking the 40th anniversary of the Sea Cadets and ever since have regularly appeared at community events and ceremonies.

Practice nights are Wednesdays - new members are very welcome to join! Please see the Fleetwood Old Boys Band page on Facebook or call the Secretary, David on 07824 179600 to find out more.

John is a canoe and kayak instructor with the Outdoor Adventure Group who meet on Fleetwood Boating Lake, Fridays from 6pm to 8pm. There's an open invitation to come along and try the activities for FREE first, it's £5pp after that with a reduction if you join as a member.

Sam from The Prince's Trust is joining us on Tuesday 9th May, 1pm to chat about the course for 16 to 25-year-olds starting later this month based at Fleetwood Community Fire Station. Young people can learn new skills, improve their self-confidence and make friends. For details please email Sam on PTfleetwood@lancsfirerescue.org.uk or call on 07900 268707.

And congratulations to our hosts at Affinity Lancashire for the opening of the new Garden World centre and Poppies Tearoom.

It was fantastic to see the huge numbers of shoppers over the May Day Bank Holiday, enjoying the indoor and outdoor plant and garden supplies shop and the dining area. We haven't tried any of the 48 flavours of ice cream available at Poppies yet but don't worry we will soon! With more exciting plans for the future, it promises to be a great summer at Affinity.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Healthier Fleetwood Open Meeting this week and shared their Good News.

Donations were taken for the Happy Pets Foodbank, which will be open on May 10th in the former Premier shop at Broadwater, junction of Meadow Avenue and Fleetwood Road. Many local businesses including ASDA and SPAR are supporting this great initiative led by local residents, which aims to keep owners and pets together in these challenging times.> Follow the Happy Pets Foodbank on their Facebook page here

Mental Health Awareness Week is coming up from 15th to 21st May and we will be sharing more about the events and support available in next week's bulletin but there's already a lot of good work going on in the community.
