LOCAL BUSINESSES LOOK TO THE FUTURE

Since the start of the Covid-19 emergency many local businesses and retailers have found a way to keep going and support the community. From the large stores to the corner shops, it's been about new ways of opening, deliveries and communication

Despite the uncertainty of what might lie ahead, it's great to see several smaller local businesses also starting up and expanding. We know some of these through our own work in the community and take this opportunity to tell you more ...

BEN'S BAKES

Chocolate brownies and cookies may not be the first thing you associate with being 'healthy' but we all need a little treat now and then! Ben Wainwright's day job is a college lecturer of dance and he supported our 'Afternoon of Dance' event. He's turned his talent for baking to good use and now offers a selection of tasty goodies to buy. You can find out more and contact Ben through Facebook or Instagram.

RELAX & RE-MIND

Earlier in the year we were talking to Simone about her new business which was about to open on Lord Street. Relax & Re-mind will be offering relaxation and resilience classes for all ages, Reiki, and reflexology but with the premises closed is working on-line at the moment. For further information, live relaxation and therapy sessions and to get in touch with Simone see her Facebook page.

THE WOOL LOFT & THREADERS BOUTIQUE

Congratulations to these two local businesses on the opening of their new premises at 6 Broadway.

The Wool Loft were hosting crochet evenings for local residents wellbeing prior to lockdown and are looking to start these again soon while Healthier Fleetwood's fleeces and the Love Fleetwood hi-vis vests were supplied by Alison at Threaders.

Good luck to all of the above and to all the local businesses working hard in the difficult times.

Healthier Fleetwood is a not-for-profit organisation supporting the physical and mental health of the Town's residents by connecting them to each other, services and voluntary groups in the community. As an individual's confidence grows they take more control of their own wellbeing and an active role in the decisions that affect them. We are independent of but work in close partnership with the many organisations supporting the community.
