'Waking The Warrior' is a new, free 10 week course for women who want to take control of their own lives and choices led by Lisa Bennett. New support sessions for women

'Waking The Warrior' is a new 10 week free course for women who want to take control of their own lives and choices. The course is led by Lisa Bennett, who will be well known to many for her work in the community over recent years. Lisa says, "The course is for women who need a boost and time to rethink what they want to do with their own life? It's a chance to look at the opportunities that are available in these difficult times? We will look at how to realise the skills you already have and how to use them; learn new ways to cope with stress and anxiety and how to best support your children and families mentally and emotionally. Looking for a career in health and social care?

Blackpool and The Fylde College are recruiting for their next Talent4Care programme starting on Monday 9th November. This is a 5-week sector-based work programme for anyone aged 19 and over who would like to gain qualifications and future careers in health and social care. The course is delivered online with a few classroom workshops (a suitable device and access to the internet is required). There will be an option to attend workshops at the Health and Social Care Career Academy based at Bickerstaffe House in Blackpool for learners that may need additional support to complete the work. Lancashire Adult Learning and North West Ambulance Service invite people to learn how to save a life to mark 'Restart a Heart Day'. It’s never been easier to learn how to save a life as the organisations team up to deliver a FREE online lifesaving skills event. Taking place on the eve of Restart a Heart Day, Thursday 15th October, the free online event will run between 8pm and 8.30pm and aims to train as many people as possible across the Red Rose County with vital lifesaving skills to become Lancashire Lifesavers. GOOD NEWS for World Mental Health Day

A different look to our Newsletter this week as, on the eve of World Mental Health Day, we look at some support close to home and from national organisations ... Fleetwood Wellbeing Way has been one of the positive things to emerge from the uncertainty of recent months. The idea came from a group of local residents as part of Lancashire Mind’s ‘Community Challenge’ earlier in the year. The Fylde’s creative arts organisation Left Coast is looking for contributions to an exhibition to be held in our Town later this year.
