Many of you will know Fiona from our Open Meetings and events, and the invaluable support she has offered Healthier Fleetwood. She is also a keen and talented photographer and would like to pass on tips to residents who want to improve their skills. Fiona says, "If you are interested in trying something new, without having to leave Fleetwood then why not take a fresh look at the world around you in a free photography workshop. Find the beauty in the every day and tell your story in images. The Fleetwood Primary Care Network* is supported by a small team connecting residents with local groups and activities to support their wellbeing. Wendy & Lisa have been keeping in touch with many residents by phone and more recently in person, socially distancing of course. They have also started to ask how individuals would like to be contacted and reconnected to the community in the future. Prior to the lockdown, Fleetwood had a fantastic, vibrant network of things to do including men's and women's groups, singing, sports, arts and crafts, gardening and much more at venues like the Library, Lofthouse Building and Milton Street. It's great to hear that many of these groups have been carryi

Healthier Fleetwood has been approached by many residents in recent days regarding the closure of the pool and leisure facilities at the Town's YMCA centre and would like to share the following statement ... We are working closely with Fleetwood and District Amateur Swimming Club and other members of the community to find a way to re-open the pool and the other facilities, safely and responsibly, as soon as possible. Open and frank conversations with Wyre Council and YMCA Fylde Coast have started and it's clear that the health and safety regulations which will need to be in place for the future, will affect the attendance numbers and therefore the income. Running the Fleetwood facility is a

Healthier Fleetwood is a not-for-profit organisation supporting the physical and mental health of the Town's residents by connecting them to each other, services and voluntary groups in the community. As an individual's confidence grows they take more control of their own wellbeing and an active role in the decisions that affect them. We are independent of but work in close partnership with the many organisations supporting the community.
