Of course it's not all 'good' news in the community as the impacts of COVID-19 continue to affect us in many ways. Some of our family, friends and neighbours have struggled, needing the support of those around them more than ever and as we see the easing of lockdown restrictions, it presents both challenges and opportunities. Healthier Fleetwood is delighted to share just some of the ‘good news’ stories we’ve heard about recently … ​ It was great to see the imaginative ways the community found to enjoy Celebrate Fleetwood Day and VE Day on the Bank Holiday while observing the health guidelines and we all deserve to have a little time to enjoy ourselves. Of course many people continued to work to keep up safe and as we are now sending these Newsletters out on Thursdays, we look forward to everyone showing their thanks and admiration this evening at 8pm with the Clap For Our Carers. ​ Earlier this week, there were two other occasions which also acknowledged the role o

Healthier Fleetwood was established to help connect the community so approaching a Bank Holiday weekend with a difference, we are delighted to pass on some of the positive ways local residents are dealing with lockdown and the support available … Many of our news items this week are opportunities for residents to show their talents and share work they’ve created in recent weeks. Local artist Heather Johnstone set up the From A Distance page on Facebook and the quality of paintings and sketches is amazing. CELEBRATING TWO FLEETWOOD COMMUNITIES

Healthier Fleetwood is delighted to be one of the partner organisations involved in Celebrate Fleetwood Day. Originally a full-day event was going to take place on Euston Gardens on Bank Holiday 8th May, which also marks the 75th anniversary of VE Day. WEEKLY GOOD NEWS: 1st May

Here’s just some of the positive news, updates and helpful information we are pleased to share with you this week … The volunteers at  Fleetwood Together are now supporting hundreds of residents, providing thousands of meals a week with the help of many partner organisations. McColls is the latest company to support this community-led initiative donating food items in the last week to be passed on to those in need. Over 40 volunteers from the staff of Fylde Coast YMCA have made themselves available to support the councils in Wyre and Fylde, assisting with the provision and delivery of food parcels, and delivering prescriptions to those most in need w

Healthier Fleetwood is a not-for-profit organisation supporting the physical and mental health of the Town's residents by connecting them to each other, services and voluntary groups in the community. As an individual's confidence grows they take more control of their own wellbeing and an active role in the decisions that affect them. We are independent of but work in close partnership with the many organisations supporting the community.
