YOUR IDEAS IN ACTION - WESTVIEW POOL CLUB

The residents at the Westview Community Association are a great example for everyone in Fleetwood. At their base on Eden Avenue they have created an environment that encourages and supports a wide range of activities and projects for their neighbourhood and across the Town. One of the latest ideas was to give youngsters a safe, welcoming environment to enjoy a game of pool with their friends, or even make new ones. There was a little problem, the cues and balls needed replacing so Healthier Fleetwood's Community Fund was able to cover the costs and as you can see, the new equipment is now in use. The pool club now meet every Thursday evening from 4.30pm until 6pm and also once a month on Sa

WOW! WHAT A FANTASTIC OPEN MEETING ... READ ALL ABOUT IT.

Earlier this week we held a very positive and enjoyable open meeting at the Emmanuel Church hall. Maurice opened the meeting and invited the first speaker David to bring the group up to date on how Healthier Fleetwood is developing. We are looking to establish the partnership as a CIO, a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. This will help to continue the good work done so far, open up new funding opportunities and most of all keep residents at the heart of everything we do. A board of 6 trustees will be created, always with a minimum of 3 local residents and along with a larger group of residents take more control over the decisions affecting the health of the community. This structure will

Healthier Fleetwood is a not-for-profit organisation supporting the physical and mental health of the Town's residents by connecting them to each other, services and voluntary groups in the community. As an individual's confidence grows they take more control of their own wellbeing and an active role in the decisions that affect them. We are independent of but work in close partnership with the many organisations supporting the community.
