As we've already shared our next Open Meeting is just after the Easter Weekend, on Wednesday 4th April from 6pm at the Broadway Rooms by St Nicholas Church, Fleetwood. These meetings are an opportunity for everyone to get involved. After we round up the news and events it’s over to you so please come along and ask questions, make suggestions and best of all, share your experiences. Each time there are some truly inspirational stories from residents who’ve made a difference to their lives and we’d love to hear more. Free refreshments are served and we’ll finish around 7.30pm. Every Wednesday morning from 10am to 12 noon we are at Fleetwood Library to meet residents. There's no need to book, just drop in for a chat. WATCH INSPIRATIONAL FLEETWOOD RESIDENTS SHARE THERE STORY

Healthier Fleetwood attended the recent World Health Innovation Summit event at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. Several residents went along to share personal experience of taking control of their health and wellbeing. John Popham is a digital storyteller with a passion for promoting the positive aspects of health and social care, he recorded interviews with the wonderful Katrina, Richard and Pauline and Dr Mark Spencer. NEW PLAY GROUPS FOR LOCAL FAMILIES

This new playgroup started by Fleetwood residents will be based on mums and what they want. The sessions will support wellbeing and social inclusion as well as just a good excuse to get together! There's already been loads of ideas about what to do and the organisers are looking at options such as a breakfast club for mums as well as tots, mindfulness sessions, book groups, reusable nappy library (yes there is such a thing!) plus teddy bears picnics, baby and toddler rhyme time, parachute games, den building. ARE YOU A FAMILY OF FANTASTIC COOKS?

We're always looking at ways of spreading the word about the benefits of diet, nutrition and healthy cooking, our Young Chef challenge is designed to encourage young people to cook more with their families. So this looks like an interesting and fun way for local families to show their culinary skills .... BBC2 is making a new series of the well-loved show The Big Family Cooking Showdown and looking for new families to take part. A SUMMARY OF OUR RECENT OPEN MEETING

Local resident Maurice chaired the meeting of around 50 people at the Broadway Rooms an opened by inviting Dr Mark Spencer and Jenny Houten of the Mountview Surgery to update on the plans for social prescribing. Mark explained that the background to the idea was to provide non-clinical support for residents alongside any essential medication. Jenny will contact patients referred by the GP to look at the most appropriate local groups and activities to support an improvement in their health. In partnership with Lancashire County Council - Community Projects and ourselves Regenda Homes are seeking applications from organisations to deliver a programme of activity to residents of our Independent Living Scheme, focused on creating health and wellbeing outcomes and impact.
