Call out to local artists … get creative on the Towpath!

Fleetwood has a thriving community of talented creatives, professionals or those who create amazing work just for pleasure.

Residents are also now represented on an arts partnership group with local agencies that share new commissions and projects. Although not in Fleetwood itself we are pleased to share such an opportunity with local artists ….

Wyre Council in partnership with Garstang Scarecrow Festival and The Canal and Rivers Trust present ‘The Towpath Project’.

This is about the animation of the canal in Garstang and requires an artist to work with two groups to make scarecrow tableaus to be installed along the towpath. The participants will be primarily older people living independently or semi-independently.

The legacy of the project is to have newly acquired skills and confidence to make more art, individually or as a group, and engage more in community matters. To also encourage people to walk and travel along the canals, rivers and estuaries more.

Further information is available here … Artistic Brief -The Towpath Project or contact no later than Monday 29th April.
